KREKOVIC MUSEUM
Kristian Krekovic was a Croatian painter born in 1901 who lived on Mallorca starting in 1960 after an intense tour through Latin American culture. From then on he devoted his life to studying Spanish and Balearic culture, and his paintings reflect our history and customs. He died in his home in Palma on the 21st of November 1985. 

The Museo Krekovic (Krekovic Museum) was officially opened in 1981, and it houses portraits, which are mainly devoted to subjects from the past and present of the Incas.

  • Technical features

The museum includes three rooms, which display a total of 150 paintings, most of them in large format. The first room is devoted to the Incan empire and civilisations. The second one focuses on Spain, especially the Balearic Islands, and on the American dimension. And the third room revolves around Peru, past and present, along with the subject of world peace. Visitors can also see samples from the indigenous Peruvian culture displayed in glass cases.
